A mother and daughter were displaced but uninjured during a Saturday morning fire at the Monmouth Mobile Home Park on Route 1, police said.
The two unidentified women were at the 3 New York Avenue mobile home when the daughter noticed a loss of electricity at 10:49 a.m., police said.
She then noticed the home filling up with smoke, collected her two dogs, called 911 and fled the home, police said.
The Kendall Park Fire Department responded and saw heavy smoke coming from one of the bedrooms of the home, according to police.
Firefighters were able to limit the blaze to the one bedroom and were able to quickly put it out, police said.
Both residents were treated at the scene by the Kendall Park First Aid Squad.
Emergency crews were at the scene for about an hour, police said.
Police said the cause of the fire appears to be accidental and the women are currently staying with friends until repairs can be made to the home.
