The 2013 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) was held this January in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Over 3,000 exhibitors showcased a wide range of innovative products this year. This year the categories include 3D, Accessories, Audio, Automotive Electronics, Embedded Technology, Lifestyle Electronics, Wireless & Wireless Devices to name a few. As in the past seven years, Bill attended. Bill will share with us the unique, emerging and maturing technologies he’s recently seen, and what others have seen, that will become part of our lives in the years ahead.
About our presenter . . .
Bill Achuff spends most of his days working as a news photographer for newspapers, magazines, and websites. He teaches and writes about photography. He’s managed several photography Meetup Groups. The first camera Bill reviewed was the Sony Mavica released in 1981. But his interests with regard to gadgetry extend beyond photography. Bill presents an annual Gizmos & Gadgets program for computer user groups; he’s presented that program at PMUG on two occasions.
Before seriously pursuing photography as a livelihood, Bill co-founded User Group Alliance, produced more than a dozen MacDinners, and co-produced the singular Macintosh Users Networking Party. Bill’s earlier pursuits are too numerous to mention.
PMUG also provides monthly "PMUG Answers" (a popular Q&A session, formerly Beginners and Intermediate SIGs) in Stuart 4 at 6:30 before the general meeting.
