Jose Alfredo Merino-Aguilar, 36, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting a pair of Wolverine work boots valued at $105 from Sears at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 27.
Boimah P. Sheriff, 31, of Trenton was charged with hindering apprehension for allegedly giving a false name to a police officer after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Princeton Avenue at 9:39 a.m. Jan. 27. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $1,500 bail for outstanding warrants.
A Niagra Falls, N.Y., resident, who is staying at the Red Roof Inn on Brunswick Pike, reported the theft of a FEMA check and a cell phone charger from her room that occurred between 8 a.m. Jan. 21 and 11:02 p.m. Jan. 26. There were no signs of forced entry.
Vinit C. Thakur, 36, of Monmouth Junction, was charged with shoplifting clothing worth $289 from Macy’s at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 26.
Hilary H. Neilson, 24, of Lawrence Road, was charged with burglary, attempting to cause injury and possession of drug paraphernalia (a marijuana pipe) after she allegedly walked into a neighboring apartment through an unlocked door and assaulted two occupants at 11:10 p.m. Jan. 26. She allegedly grabbed one victim around the throat and punched the second victim in the head. She was released after posting $7,500 bail.
Patrick T. Martin, 20, of Ewing Township, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a car, possession of drug paraphernalia and making an improper turn after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Brunswick Pike at 7:59 p.m. Jan. 23. A search of his car revealed a metal grinder with raw marijuana in it, and a pipe.
A GPS unit worth $150 was stolen from a 1999 Ford Mustang belonging to a Kent Court resident while it was parked outside the Colonial Bowling Lanes on Brunswick Pike between 2:40 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Jan. 21. The thief smashed the driver’s side window to get inside.
A bag containing makeup and pajamas, valued at $90, was stolen from a 2010 Kia Soul belonging to a Hamilton resident while it was parked outside the Red Lobster restaurant on Brunswick Pike between 3:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The thief broke the passenger’s side window to get inside, causing $200 worth of damage.
Someone stole the backup display camera, valued at $150, from the dashboard of a Ford Econoline van belonging to the Lawrence Township public school district while it was parked at the school district garage behind the Lawrence Middle School on Princeton Pike between 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and 2:40 p.m. Jan. 21. The front passenger window was smashed to get inside, causing $300 worth of damage.
Bartosz Musial, 27, of Colonial Lake Drive, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Whitehead Road at 1:03 p.m. Jan. 21. Police found 21 empty baggies that had contained heroin in his car.
Mark L. Jones, 37, and Chadd Dillard Jr., 30, both of Johnson Avenue, were charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a report of a suspicious car parked on Albermarle Road at 8:06 p.m. Jan. 19. Police found a small glass jar in the car that contained a small amount of marijuana, and a cigar that could be hollowed out and filled with marijuana.
Sherri Lebel, 38, of Sturwood Way was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving after police on patrol stopped to check on her car which was parked at the Crab Trap store on Princeton Avenue at 2:28 a.m. Jan. 19.
Scott A. Avellino Jr., 23, of Lake Drive, was charged with driving under the influence and other violations after he drove through a red traffic light on Brunswick Pike and Whitehead Road at 12:20 a.m. Jan. 18. Police believe Mr. Avellino may have been under the influence of a psychedelic drug known as 2C-I.
