MANVILLE: Nine shoplifting calls draw police to Walmart

   Police were called to the Walmart store on North Main Street nine times in the week from Jan. 22-27.
   Walmart security turned over two alleged shoplifters, Elena Steffel, 33, of Manville, and Christina Rinaldo, 27, of Bridgewater at 12:52 p.m. Jan. 22. Total value of stolen items was $284.95, police said. They were booked and released on $100 cash bail.
   Two more alleged shoplifters were charged at 3:11 p.m. Jan. 22. Sarah Notte, 20, of South Bound Brook and a 16-year-old girl from Bound Brook were charged. Ms Notte was released on $100 cash bail. The teen was released to her mother. Value of stolen items was $153.22, police said.
   Two alleged shoplifters left the store and drove away in a car, Walmart security told police at 5:11 p.m. Jan. 22. Patrols checked and couldn’t find the vehicle. The store was to report back if stolen items could be identified.
   Walmart reported two alleged shoplifters in custody at noon Jan. 23. Police arrested Yadira Jimenez, 35, and Angel Olivieri, 33, both of South River. Total value of items taken was $88. Ms. Jimenez was released on her own recognizance. Mr. Olivieri was released to South River police on a criminal warrant for $1,800.
   Walmart asked for police to respond to an alleged shoplifter at 12:42 p.m. Jan. 25. Police charged Abdul Brima, 21, of Hillsborough with taking 461.50 worth of items and released.
   Walmart security reported an alleged shoplifter leaving the store lot in a Nissan Altima at 3:10 p.m. Jan. 25. Patrols stopped the car on North Main Street and arrested Amber Forsythe, 27, of Neshanic Station and charged her with shoplifting items valued at $95.30 and ultimately released her on her own say-so.
   Walmart Security reported a shoplifter in custody at 10 a.m. Jan. 27. Patrols arrested and charged Shelby Sakelakos, 21, of Hillsborough for shoplifting items valued at $323.98, and then released on $100 bail.
   Walmart Security called for police to respond to an alleged shoplifter. Patrols arrested Cory Montgomery, 25, of Franklin Townsip, Somerset County, on two Manville warrants. He was lodged in county jail in default of $3,000 bail. Walmart issued a civil waiver for shoplifting, police said, and no criminal complaints were signed.
   Walmart reported having a 16-year-old boy from Bound Brook in custody for alleged shoplifting of $33 worth of merchandise at 4:25 p.m. Jan. 27. Walmart declined to prosecute, police said, and the parent was called.
