Copper piping was stolen from a Boesel Avenue address, a caller said at 12:40 p.m. Jan. 21. Police said the incident occurred after midnight.
• Joshua Steever, with a last known address in Raritan Township, was arrested at a West Camplain Road address at 1:54 p.m. Jan. 21 on a warrant from Edison for domestic violence and terroristic threats. He was held on $100,000 bail and turned over to Edison police.
• A South Main Street woman came to headquarters at 6:11 p.m. Jan. 21 to say that one license plate was removed from her vehicle in the last year. Value of the plate is $5. The plate is to be entered as stolen when the remaining plate is turned over to the Motor Vehicle Commission.
• A 37-inch Vizio TV was reported stolen at a North 5th Avenue address on 6:31 p.m. Jan. 21. The caller said someone entered the unlocked rear door of her apartment. It was entered into national crime records.
• A Bedminster woman, 32, came to headquarters at 6:38 p.m. Jan. 21 to report losing her wallet Jan. 20 about 2:30 p.m. at the Reading Cinema on North Main Street. It had a driver’s license, and debit, auto, credit (belonging to another person) cards and health insurance cards for her five children.
• A 28-year-old Neshanic Station man came to headquarters at 6:56 p.m. Jan. 21 to say he lost his red wallet around Dec. 28 at the Quick Chek on Brooks Boulevard. Among items in it were $30 cash and a $50 gift card, he said.
• A hit-and-run driver seared off a fire hydrant on West Camplain Road near South 12th Avenue just before 1 a.m. Jan. 23. Less than a half-hour later, patrols reported the detached fire hydrant that was placed to the side of the road had been taken. Its value was put at $250.
• A man called at 6:52 a.m. Jan. 23 and said his vehicle had just been hit in the area of West Camplain Road and South 3rd Avenue. Police recorded a hit-and-run.
• The rescue squad was called to North 9th Avenue to take a 13-year-old boy “in an altered mental state” to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for treatment at 7:40 p.m. Jan. 23.
• Lt. John Crater reported a stolen vehicle identification number plate, valued at $100, from a vehicle at Adesa Auto Auction on North Main Street between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Jan. 24.
• A North 2nd Avenue woman came to headquarters at noon Jan. 24 to say she had been struck by a vehicle on North Main Street at about 6:55 a.m. She went to Somerset Medical Center on her own.
• A Somerville Avenue woman reported at 10:55 a.m. Jan. 25 that a package delivered by UPS was stolen from her front porch on Dec. 19. The package had a $211 purse from Macy’s, she said.
• A Lincoln Avenue man said someone in a white box truck came to his home and tried to sell him meat at 11:53 a.m. Jan. 25. Police stopped the truck on East Camplain Road and advised the driver, 31, of Elmsford, N.Y., of borough ordinances.
• The assistant court clerk asked for police to respond to the violations bureau at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 25 for Richard Leonidis, 51, of Manville, who had a $500 warrant. Mr. Leonidis allegedly fled the building on foot when told police were on the way. He later turned himself in at headquarters and was lodged in county jail in default of bail.
• At 1:50 p.m. Jan. 25, Weston School reported an incident for the record in which a 7-year-old student was allegedly hit by her mother. DYFS said it would not respond.
• Bridgewater police asked Manville to assist with recovering a World War II rifle, voluntarily turned in during a domestic dispute, on Beekman Street at 7:27 p.m. Jan. 25. Police were unable to reach anyone and would try again in the morning.
• Patrolman William Sampson checked a suspicious car parked on South 7th Avenue at 10:33 p.m. Jan. 25 and subsequently arrested Robert M. Blair, 26, of that street on a $1,000 warrant from Greenwich Township. He posted bail and was released.
• A woman reported a pickup plowing dirt and rocks in a reckless manner at 2 a.m. Jan. 26 on South Street. Ronald Arbuckle, 44, of Hillsborough was charged with DWI, taken to headquarters, booked and released to his mother.
• A North Main Street resident came to headquarters at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 to say she was the victim of a possible fraud. Police said she had sent $440 via Western Union to a man in Maryland to buy a cat over the Internet. She didn’t have other information but wanted the incident on the record.
• David Hughes, 52, of North 5th Avenue was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for an alleged disturbance at 10:11 p.m. Jan. 26. He was turned over to his neighbor.
• A Boesel Avenue caller at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 27 said someone placed two condoms on his vehicle, with no damage.
• A caller reported an injured bird in the roadway in front of the Chester House on Brooks Boulevard at 4:13 p.m. Jan. 27. Patrols responded but the bird was gone.
• A Hillsborough woman walked into headquarters at 6:11 p.m. Jan. 27 and said she had received several harassing text messages, Patrolman William Sampson called the number. The person later texted the victim and apologized. The woman was satisfied, police said, and there was no further action.
