MILLSTONE: Tickets stilll available for MTFEE ‘Casino Night’

Feb. 2 fundraiser benefits Millstone public schools

   MILLSTONE — Tickets are still available online for the Millstone Foundation for Educational Excellence’s Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday, a cocktail party with casino games that offer chances to prizes that include a flat screen TV, iPad Mini, designer handbags and gift certificates to restaurants, spas and ski resorts.
   The Feb. 2 event, which benefits Millstone public schools, starts at 7 p.m. at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. The cost of the event is $65 per person and includes $25 in “fun money” for gambling entertainment, as well as hors d’oeuvres, crudités, assorted cheeses, dessert and a cash bar. Tickets can still be purchased online at www.mtfee.org.
   There will be a variety of casino games at the fundraiser, including Texas Hold-Em, Roulette, Blackjack and Craps. In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle and sports memorabilia, as well as silent and tricky tray auctions.
   Top prizes include an iPad Mini, 32” flat screen TV, Spring Collection Coach Bag, spa and restaurant certificates, lift tickets for several ski lodges (4-packs), and golf packages for various courses in the area.
   MTFEE is a nonprofit organization that provides grants for innovative classroom programs, educational opportunities, staff development, and state-of-the-art teaching materials that are beyond the scope of the general school budget. The foundation operates independently from the school district and replenishes its grant fund exclusively through donations and fundraising events such as Casino Night.
   The foundation has awarded more than $432,000 in grants to Millstone Township schools since 2002. MTFEE grants, which have been awarded at every grade level and in every discipline, have included SMARTBoards, mobile computer and iPad labs, and a rock-climbing wall.
