It is with deep regret that we will not be able to host our annual Sno-Ball Softball Fundraiser or 5K Community Fun Run/Walk this year.
These challenging economic times, along with the impact of hurricanes Sandy and Irene, have impacted everyone tremendously including the UFREF, which has experienced an unprecedented decrease in participation, contributions, and number of trustees and volunteers needed to continue to effectively carry out our mission. It takes a village to educate and it also takes a village to help and support our children.
We continue to be deeply saddened by the loss of our good friend and treasurer, Scott Smith, who served since the foundation’s formation as a founding trustee and who worked tirelessly in support of the community and UFREF.
With the support of you the community, the Upper Freehold Regional School District, the Board of Education, Upper Freehold Township, Allentown Council and local leadership, we have been able to provide over $150,000 in grants and targeted donations over the past four years.
We look forward to concentrating our efforts on recruiting for a long-term sustainable program moving forward. Please note that the UFREF will continue to be a vehicle for support and charitable donations for the Upper Freehold Regional School District.
Thank you again for your help, support, and participation across the years and we look forward to hosting Sno-Ball 2014!
James Derasmo, UFREF President
Sydney Guerrero, UFREF Vice President
