HILLSBOROUGH: College students make the grades

   Jennifer Ellis of Hillsborough graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics during the Dec. 15 commencement exercises.
   Marine Corps Maj. Justin Constantine, an Iraq War veteran and advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project, spoke at the ceremony, where 782 degress were conferred.
   Dhruv Shah of Hillsborough earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology last fall from the State University of New York at New Paltz. More than 600 undergraduate degrees were conferred.
   Laura Blum from Hillsborough was named to the dean’s list at the State University of New York at Geneseo for the fall semester 2012. To be on the list, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade-point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.
   Ken Gan, a 2011 Hillsborough High School graduate, was acknowledged as a member of the fall President’s List at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, where he is a sophomore and basketball player. This award is given to athletes who maintain a 3.75 or higher average for an academic semester.

   Jeffrey Killian and Michael Daly, both of Hillsborough, qualified for the dean’s list for the fall semester at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
   Three Hillsborough residents have been named to the Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences dean’s list for the fall semester at the Ithaca, N.Y., school.
   They are Hannah Claudio, Samir Doshi and Natasha Rao.
   Two local residents made the dean’s list for the fall quarter at Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology.
   They are Travis Williams of Manville, a second-year student in RIT’s College of Applied Science and Technology, and Trevor Mazzaglia of Hillsborough, a third-year student in RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

   Tori Boch, a 2012 graduate of Hillsborough High School, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Towson (Md.) University. She is a freshman studying elementary and special education.
   Chris Nunn, who goes to the University of Delaware, was named to the Dean’s List this past fall. Chris graduated from Hillsborough High School  in 2009, and is majoring in chemical engineering.
