Hillsborough police reported the theft of a truck, as well as two homes break-ins with thefts, in the last two weeks of January.
• A Freightliner truck, valued at $20,000, was reported stolen Jan. 25 from a Beekman Lane property sometime in the previous day.
• A Zion Road resident reported a burglary that had occurred during the evening hours leading into Jan. 16. Police said jewelry valued at $4,348 was reported stolen. Detectives are investigating.
• An Amwell Road resident reported a burglary Jan. 14 in which $4,905 worth of belongings, including a handgun, were reported stolen. Detectives are investigating.
Police reported five incidents in about two weeks in January in which young men were charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.
• Ryan Olsen, 19, of Hillsborough was charged Jan. 20 during a suspicious vehicle investigation on Thompson Close. He was released after booking.
• Kyle Cianciola, 18, of Hillsborough was charged during a Gemini Drive traffic stop on Jan. 15. He was released after also being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while possessing a controlled dangerous substance and careless driving.
• Gregory Basile, 23, of Branchburg was charged Jan. 12 during a Route 206 traffic stop. He was released after also being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while possession of a controlled dangerous substance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
• Jason Davis, 27, of Hillsborough was charged Jan. 10 during an Amwell Road traffic stop on Jan. 10. He was released after also being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
• Shayne Ditzel, 19, of Hillsborough was charged Jan. 5 following a Merritt Drive traffic stop. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was released after booking.
