If anyone knows of the oldest living Eldridge Park School graduate or faculty member, Michele Immordino would like to know too so that person can be honored at the 100th anniversary celebration of the school next month.
The Eldridge Park School opened its doors in 2013, and the school on Lawn Park Avenue plans to hold a celebration for students and staff March 22, said Ms. Immordino. She is the school’s library media specialist.
”We want to honor a number of different people who have contributed to the Eldridge Park School in some way,” she said. “We would like to try to honor the oldest living Eldridge Park School student, teacher and principal, and the faculty member who has been at the school continuously (since reopening in 1990).”
Ms. Immordino also is searching for the school’s principals who served between 1955 and 1975.
The Eldridge Park School closed in 1978 as enrollment in the Lawrence Township public school district declined, but it reopened in 1990. It served as a fourth-grade school for several years, but now its enrollment is students in grades pre-K to 3rd grade.
Ms. Immordino said the effort is underway to compile a list of Eldridge Park School faculty. Some faculty members are still working in the Lawrence Township public school district, but others may have moved away.
