MANVILLE: School Future Business Leaders excel in tests

   Every January, members of Manville High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America participate in competitive regional business testing with other schools in central New Jersey.
   These tests spanned the range of modern business topics, from word processing and business calculations to sports management and cyber security.
   This year, Manville’s FBLA had a total of 20 students who placed between first and 10th in their testing events, all of whom are now eligible to compete at the state level in March with other regional winners around the state.
   Individual test winners included:
   • Ariel Rodriguez (9th place, Mr. Future Business Leader), Justyna Pupek (5th place, Ms. Future Business Leader);
   • Kimberly Ulate (8th place, Word Processing II), Magda Woznicki (5th place, Word Processing II), Kristen Schuyler (4th place, Word Processing II),
   • Erynn Carr (9th place, Word Processing I), Daniela Castro (7th place, Word Processing I),
   • Sebastian Wisnioweicki (5th place, Introduction to Technology Concepts),
   • Olivia Smutek (3rd place, FBLA Principles & Procedures), Patti Amarilla (1st place, FBLA Principles & Procedures), and
   • Marty Marshalek (2nd place, Computer Problem Solving).
   In addition, some students participated in tests in which they worked together as a team to complete.
   Of these team tests, MHS placed in the Banking and Financial Systems test with a team of Kimberly George, Sam Mooney and Eshley Pinto; the Battle of the Chapters test with a team of Marty Marshalek, Emily Barnes and Allie Puza; the Desktop Publishing test with a team of Emmely Monterroso and Cynthia Quinonez; and Management Decision Making with a team of Daniel Alfaro and Mirian Desouza.
   The members of the Future Business Leaders of America at Manville High School look forward to the testing in March to distinguish themselves among their peers and positively represent Manville High.
