The cash register and the money it contained were stolen from a 42 South Main St. business in the early morning hours on Sunday, police reported. Police were called at 7 a.m. on the report of a burglary. Someone had entered a shop behind the Old Mill by breaking the window and front door, police said. The total value of the burglary was $850. Police are continuing to investigate.

A Roslyn, New York, man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and careless driving at 2:28 a.m. Saturday, police said. Vishal Mehta, 27, was arrested and charged after Partolman Scott Kivet saw his car bumping up against the curb on Union Street. Police said Mr. Mehta failed several field sobriety tests. Mr. Mehta was released pending a court appearance.
Matthew Zoschak, 21, of Yardville was arrested after a motor vehicle stop at 2:33 a.m. Saturday on Route 130 south and charged with possession of drugs, paraphernalia and several motor vehicle violations. Police stopped Mr. Zoschak’s car after he allegedly failed to move over for emergency workers replacing a telephone pole. A small quantity of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia were found in the car following a search, police said. Mr. Zoschak was charged and released pending a court appearance.
A 27-year-old Helmetta man was charged with drving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and speeding following a motor vehicle stop at 2:07 a.m. Jan. 30, police reported. Michael Cardazone’s vehicle was stopped for speeding. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged, police said. He was released pending a court appearance.
