Mrs. Nowikow, 83, of Howell, died Jan. 19, 2013, at home. She was born in Belarus, and lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil, before moving to Howell. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress and a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander, in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Neli Kurjaninow, and her husband, Anatoly, of Howell; a son, Nicolai Nowikow and his wife, Barbara, of Jackson; a sister, Helena Basko of Howell; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at the Church of St. Monica, Jackson, followed by interment in St. Vladimir’s Russian Orthodox Christian Cemetery, Jackson. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
