The Manville High School boys’ soccer team raised nearly $1,000 for the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center.
Led by head coach Rick McCarrick and assistant coach Katie Margerison, the team of 34 sold T-shirts as part of an October game event called “Kicking Breast Cancer Off the Field” at their Senior Night recognition game. The team presented Somerset Medical Center with a check for $951 on Jan. 23.
The Steeplechase Cancer Center enables Central New Jersey cancer patients to see their doctors, undergo outpatient treatment and participate in cancer research studies — all in one place close to home. The three-story, 63,000-square-foot facility houses radiation therapy services, infusion therapy, breast imaging services, the medical center’s research team and oncologists’ and surgeons’ offices.
