SEPTA to host talk on brain development

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — The Ocean Township Special Education PTA will host a talk on Thursday, Feb. 7,, titled “Childhood Brain Development: What Every Parent and Teacher Should Know,” presented by Superintendent of Schools John Lysko. The event, which will take place at 7 p.m. in the Ocean Township Board of Education building, 163 Monmouth Road, is free and open to all. Parents will learn what behavior they can expect — and not expect — from school-aged children and teens. Attendees will also learn how they can tailor children’s requests and expectations to result in better responses and happier kids. The 2011 presentation of this program was standing room only.
