Mr. Conrad, of Jackson, died Jan.13, 2013, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills. He attended the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pa., on a full track scholarship and received a Bachelor of Arts in science. He earned a Master of Education degree from Rutgers University, and participated in intensive mathematical studies at Louisiana State University. He also attended Trenton State College, Glassboro State College, Newark College of Engineering and Seton Hall. Mr. Conrad taught for 38 years in the Jackson School District. In 1994, he was named Teacher of the Year. He also taught mathematics for 14 years at Ocean County College, Toms River. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Marion (McPolin); three daughters, Erin, Elizabeth, and Claire, and her husband, John; three sons, David, Christopher, and Kerry and his wife, Kelly; a sister, Enola Karaliunas; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at All Saints Episcopal Church, Lakewood, followed by entombment in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson. A scholarship for future educators has been established in Mr. Conrad’s name. All checks may be made payable to TSF Inc. (with a notation in the memo: Walter D.
