Walter J. Zagata

Mr. Zagata, 92, formerly of Sayreville, died Jan. 23, 2013, at his home in Pompano Beach, Fla. After World War II, he worked as a welder at Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, and then began his own business, Zagata Welding, Sayreville. He was a former member of the Sayreville Industrial Commission. He was predeceased by his wife, Leola A. Roels Zagata; a sister, Cecelia Pasterick; and two brothers, Louis and Simon Zagata. Surviving are three children, James L. Zagata, and his former wife, Donna, of Sayreville, Lorraine Rock of Redwood City, Calif., and Karen Hardin of Pompano Beach; a brother, Frank Zagata, and his wife, Theresa, of Sayreville; a sister-in-law, Julie Zagata, also of Sayreville; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville.
