THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WATER COMPANIES ANNOUNCES NAWC LIVING WATER AWARD RECIPIENT
The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) is pleased to announce that José de Jesus of USA-PA, a Middlesex Water Company affiliate, has been selected as the second recipient of an NAWC Living Water Award.
The NAWC Living Water Awards were established to recognize the private water industry professionals who are “living water” through their extraordinary commitment to quality, service and community.
“José has earned this recognition for regularly going above and beyond for his customers,” said Michael Deane, executive director of the NAWC. “I congratulate José and his colleagues at USA-PA and Middlesex Water Company on this achievement. The NAWC Living Water Awards recognize standout employees who serve as an inspiration to everyone in the private water industry, and José embodies the very criteria we had in mind when we established the program.”
As operators of the water supply system and wastewater system for the City of Perth Amboy, NJ, we are delighted that Jose has earned this honor for his commitment to Perth Amboy residents, for representing the values of our company and for serving as a great ambassador,” said Dennis Doll, President and CEO of Middlesex Water.
In their nomination of De Jesus, a USA-PA meter service technician, his colleagues described him as a “wonderful and humble” person with the “patience of a saint.” He is also known for regularly exceeding expectations and being proactive, and he is often the first into the office and the last to leave.
In addition to inspiring his coworkers, De Jesus treats everyone he encounters in the field with a great deal of respect. Fluent in Spanish and English, he takes the time to explain every situation to his customers so they understand rates and the impacts of leaks. De Jesus is also active in the community and serves as a Deacon for Holy Spirit Church. It is the combination of dedication, spirit of community and universal respect that has earned De Jesus the Living Water Award.
The NAWC Living Water Awards program is an ongoing initiative and any employee of an NAWC member company can participate by nominating a colleague online at any time. The voting process will take place every two months on the NAWC Facebook page and we encourage you to “like” us to receive regular program updates.
The National Association of Water Companies is the voice of the private water industry—the organization exclusively representing this group of quality service providers, innovation drivers and responsible partners. Private water service companies help provide essential water and wastewater services to nearly 73 million people in the United States.
