HILLSBOROUGH: Pipeline spokesman coming to meeting Tuesday

A representative of the Buckeye Pipeline Company is expected to provide an update of repair on a section of its pipeline under Route 206 near New Amwell Road to the Township Committee tomorrow night, Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Company spokesman David Boone is on the agenda to make a presentation.
Residents who smelled gasoline emanating from the storm sewer system led to the search for a leak on the weekend of Dec. 8-9. The investigatory work narrowed Route 206 to one lane for a few days.
The failure point in the casing under the highway was on the east side of the road, about five feet from the shoulder, Mr. Boone said that month.
After testing the integrity of the system, Buckeye personnel safely restarted the pipeline system Feb. 7, the company said. The company resumed pumping about 140,000 gallons of gasoline per day.
Mr. Boone said in December that Buckeye will be back in the first quarter of 2013 to make a permanent repair.
