MANVILLE: PBA serves up lunch to seniors

Senior citizens of Manville were treated to lunch Tuesday by the Manville PBA at the North End Firehouse on North Eighth Avenue.
A total of 81 senior citizens signed up through the Recreation Department for the noontime meal.
Officer John Granahan, a member of the PBA, greeted the seniors.
”As most of you know, we have been doing this every year, and we enjoy it,” he said. “I think it is a fun afternoon for everybody. We get to interact a little bit more with the people in town on a good note.”
Members of the PBA attended to show their support, and Capt. Mark Sniscak stopped by.
The seniors dined on all-Italian food from Frank’s Pizza, including chicken francese, chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, baked ziti, sausage and peppers and salad. Seniors also were treated to brownies, cookies, cake and fruit for dessert. The PBA gets the food and sets everything up for the luncheon.
Dottie Koonz attended and was appreciative.
”We are so lucky that Manville really does treat their seniors very well,” she said. “They have a lot of activities. We are just grateful for that. The PBA is wonderful.”
