PRINCETON: Arts and transit work due to start in March

By Philip Sean Curran, Staff Writer
Phase one of Princeton University’s $300 million art and transit project is due to start in March during what the school says will be an overall four-year work schedule culminating in fall 2017.
The project, a major piece of university outgoing President Shirley M. Tilghman’s agenda, will begin with demolishing university-owned buildings on Alexander Street. Some utility work is also involved.
Demolition will move south to north, to fit into overall schedule the school has in mind for a new parking lot, street improvements and the new train station to all get done before construction of the three campus arts building can begin in the summer of 2014.
