Mrs. Charben, 80, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 25, 2013, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Charben, and by a grandson, Joseph Manion. Surviving are four children and their spouses, Gail and Jeff Palette of Old Bridge, Michael and Traci Charben of South Brunswick, JoAnn and Joseph Manion of the Morgan section of Sayreville and Nacole Merritt of Woodbridge; a brother, Louis Fernandez of New York City; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass was offered at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville.
