LAMBERTVILLE: Fire district election Feb. 16

   LAMBERTVILLE — On Saturday (Feb. 16), between 2 and 9 p.m., the Lambertville Board of Fire Commissioners will hold its annual election at the Justice Center, 25 S. Union St.
   Robert Brown. of Rosemont Avenue, and Christopher Kascik, of Ferry Street, are seeking re-election to the board. Mr. Kascik ran in 2012 and was elected then to complete the last year of an unexpired term.
   The commission is seeking approval for a total budget appropriation of $761,771, of which $514,050 is to be raised through local taxation.
    In 2012, the city’s fire district budget of $503,735 was OK’d by voters There were just 18 votes in favor of the budget and 12 against the spending plan.
   Registered voters are “encouraged to come out and vote,” a city official said.
