Overturned oil truck in So. Bruns.causes temporary power outage

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A motor vehicle accident on Major Road between Route 1 and Northumberland Way in South Brunswick on Feb. 11 temporarily cut the power to some residents in the area.

According to police, a fuel oil truck struck a utility pole around 8:20 a.m. and flipped over. The truck driver sustained nonlife-threatening injuries.

The resulting power outage lasted about 10 minutes while PSE&G crews replaced the utility pole.

The road remained closed for most of the day.
