FLEMINGTON: CEA’s dinner dance celebrates friendship

FLEMINGTON — Dinner, dancing to live music and a silent auction with items such as a mountain bike, certificates for horseback riding lessons, a wine and cheese tasting party and a bed and breakfast stay, to name a few, will happen at the 18th annual CEA (Center for Educational Advancement) Friendship Recognition Dinner Dance.
The gala will be held on March 2 at 6 p.m. at the Grand Colonial in Perryville and will recognize some of the people who made a difference to the organization over the past year.
Proceeds will help provide training, employment and other support to people with various disabilities, helping them achieve financial independence through a paycheck. CEA has been helping individuals become contributing members of their community since 1970.
The silent auction will provide a chance to bid on items contributed by businesses, organizations, and artists, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support CEA’s mission. Items include: gift baskets, Riverside Symphonia tickets, hand-cut crystal, Keurig coffeemaker, an assortment of art pieces from local artisans, golf foursomes, Sunday brunch, cleaning services, and much more.
John King, of Raritan Township, is the chairman. The event is sponsored by Johanna Foods and Team Capital Bank at the Dinner Sponsor level. Bihler of America is sponsoring at the Award level. Portrait Sponsors are Ardito and Company, Century Link and Hunterdon Healthcare, while Investors Bank is the Entertainment sponsor.
Proceeds from the event will support CEA’s programs, which provide employment, job placement and training programs for people with various disabilities as well as academic and transition to adulthood programs for youth.
”This is an opportunity to celebrate and recognize some of the people responsible for our success in allowing people with significant barriers to employment become independent and socially active members of their community,” commented Michael Skoczek, president/CEO of the Center for Educational Advancement.
Tickets are on sale now for $100 each at www.ceaemployment.com/events, by contacting CEA at [email protected] or calling 908-782-1480.
