FLEMINGTON — The Board of Trustees (BOT) of Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR) has announced the election of the following officers:
— President – Christine Venditti, chief investigator with the Hunterdon County Office of the Public Defender.
— First Vice President – Kenneth Sanchez, Business Performance Solutions.
— Second Vice President – John Gudelis, of Prudential Financial.
— Treasurer – Ginny Rutkowski, community volunteer.
— Secretary – Cecelia Hopkins, formerly of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce and now community volunteer.
— Nick Pellitta, Immediate past chairman, was named trustee emeritus chairman, a newly enacted position on the Board.
When asked about his tenure on the board, Mr. Pellitta said, “As a resident of Hunterdon County and an attorney with a practice that has included the representation of both educational institutions and youth/students in situations involving alcohol/drug use and bullying, I recognize and appreciate the need for education and counseling in areas that have a significant impact on the well-being of individuals, their families and the community. Hunterdon Prevention Resources provides those resources and works with families, law enforcement and the business community in a collaborative effort to create a healthy and safe environment for all of us. I am proud to contribute to those efforts and serve on the Hunterdon Prevention Resources Board of Trustees.”
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES also welcomes the following members:
Bryan O’Rourke has been president of Cardinal International since 1994. He started his career on Wall Street at the tender age of 16. Bryan is a resident of Clinton Township. In addition to supporting HPR, Mr. O’Rourke is also president of the newly formed Hunterdon Crime Stoppers. “Bryan cares about the community in which he lives and gives back wherever and whenever he can,” said Karen Widico, HPR executive director.
Chris Phelan has been president of Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce since 2008. Mr. Phelan serves on a variety of other community boards including the United Way of Hunterdon County, the Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board, The Flemington Business Improvement District and the New Jersey Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (as the immediate past president). He just finished his tenure as the president of the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad where he is a life member. He is also active with the Flemington Rotary Club. Mr. Phelan resides in Raritan Township with his wife Antonietta, their daughter Natalie and son Cameron.

To be associated with such a dynamic staff, committed Board and volunteers that are making a real impact in the lives of so many here in the County is truly something I find rewarding. The Chamber’s partnership with Hunterdon Prevention Resources is very critical to ensure that our residents, employers and employees have programs and resources that can only strengthen the communities in which we work and live.”
