If you are like most of us, there is always something that needs to be done around the home. Too often the job seems beyond our ability and we are forced to hire someone or put off doing the job altogether. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has come up with a way to help. Fortunately, there are a number of people in our area that are willing to teach basic skills. We will be offering free Skills Building workshops periodically through the year to the community. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
The next workshop will be “Pro Secrets to Basic Ceramic and Vinyl Tile Installation and Repair” led by Anthony, an expert from Home Depot. Free and open to the community. Remember, ALL are welcome.
During The 90-minute class, Anthony will cover:
Proper Tools
Removing/replacing old tile and grout
Proper floor preparation (including cracked and uneven flooring)
Cementing tile
Grouting/ use of spacers and types of grout mix
Sealing grout (including how often to reseal)
Maintenance of  grout and tile (including dirty grout that has been sealed)
Grout repair techniques (assuming tile is not being replaced)
To get really good results you need to understand what materials to use, the proper surface preparation and the techniques to get a professional looking results. We will demonstrate techniques, tools, and materials.
