Taking the first step to maintaining a healthy heart is finding out how likely you are to developing a problem such as a heart attack or stroke.
Most people do not realize they have heart disease until they have a heart attack. By then it can be too late.
Hunterdon Medical Center’s Heart and Vascular Care Services will offer a Heart Health Screening and Information Fair on Feb. 23 from 8-11 a.m. at Hunterdon Medical Center.
This Heart Health Screening includes a fasting lipid and glucose test (fee), blood pressure, body mass index and a risk factor analysis for heart disease.
Attendees can start out their day with a yoga class at 8:30 a.m. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
Maria Feo, Heart and Vascular coordinator, and Michelle Wright, registered dietitian, will lead a program on “Blood Pressure and the Power of Produce” at 10 a/m/
In addition, attendees can get their heart pumping by participating in a Sha’bam dance class at 10:30 a.m.
The fee for the lab test is $25.
Registration is only required for the lab test by calling 908-788-6157. All other program activities are free of charge and no registration is required.
