Monmouth University is offering three weeks of boys basketball camp this summer at the Multipurpose Activity Center (MAC). Monmouth coaches running the camp include head coach and North Carolina McDonald’s All-American King Rice, as well as assistant coaches and 1993 national champions, Brian Reese and Derrick Phelps.
The camp will consist of shooting, games, competitions and skill development for rising third-eighth grade boys. The cost is $290 with a $50 early bird discount extended to March 1. For more information, contact coach Sam Ferry at sferry@monmouth.edu.

The New Jersey Section of The PGA of America (NJPGA) announced that Manalapan’s Chris Bauer will replace longtime Executive Director Scott Kmiec, who has accepted the position as senior director, PGA Foundation, at The PGA of America’s Corporate Headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Bauer most recently served as the Section’s director of operations.
Bauer, 32, a graduate of Rutgers University, Cook College (2002), started with the NJPGA as a collegiate intern in June of 2001. He began as a full-time employee on June 1, 2002, serving as tournament administrator and working into the position of director of operations, where he has managed daily activities in conjunction with the successful NJPGA tournament program, among other responsibilities. Effective immediately, Bauer will assume the role as executive director and work closely with Kmiec to ensure a seamless transition.
Sky Blue FC unveiled its 2013 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) schedule, with the team returning for a fourth season of play at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway. The team will play a 22-match split of home and away games, kicking off the season at Yurcak Field against the Western New York Flash at 6 p.m. on April 14.
“First and foremost, it is certainly nice to know who our opening weekend opponent will be,” Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra said in a club press release. “Most importantly, we now know when we are playing long stretches of home and away games, and we can cross-reference upcoming FIFA dates to know when we may be missing national team players. Overall, we now have a good feeling of how the season will go in terms of player management, which will be critical in our game-to-game preparation.”
Also revealed by Sky Blue FC was ticket information for the 2013 season, with choices of general admission, center circle club and on-field seats available. General admission tickets are just $14 for individual matches ($110 for season tickets), while center circle club seats are $22 for individual games ($200 for season tickets). On-field seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, priced individually at $60 and $500 for the season. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-888-SBFC-TIX.
Yurcak Field seats 5,000 spectators in its facility and it has served as the home venue for Sky Blue FC in each of its three previous years of professional play.
