No end in sight to dam repair project

Dora Schember, Allentown
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with Allentown Borough and Monmouth County regarding the completion of the Allentown Bridge/Dam (U-12) project.
I live at on South Main in one of the unfinished properties. It is my understanding that the work on my property will not be completed until the borough and the county reach an agreement on who’s paying to repair the damaged sewer line.
Perhaps your readers are not aware that the sewer line, in the Mill Pond, adjacent to my property, has been leaking into the creek for over a year now. (I contacted the Allentown Borough about the leak on Aug. 26, 2011). I thought it had been temporarily repaired, but apparently not. I cannot get an answer from either the borough or the county about when this situation will be resolved, so my property remains in limbo, with no end in sight.
Mr. Mayor, shame on you for allowing this situation to continue for this long. I implore you to reach an agreement with the county and resolve this issue, so that further health issues created by the leaking sewer line will be prevented, the eyesore of construction fence will be gone, and I can once again enjoy my property.
(I am amazed that the DEP has not demanded the leaking sewer line be repaired, as well as the cleanup of the stone, concrete, and chunks of asphalt that washed into Doctor’s Creek during Hurricane Irene — this must surely be upsetting the ecological balance of the wetlands).
