East Windsor
Police said a theft took place at Gold’s Gym between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Feb. 6. The complainant reported that she had left her purse in an unsecured locker in the locker room of Gold’s Gym when it was stolen. The purse contained several credit cards, personal papers and two gift cards. The cards were used at local establishments and the incident is under investigation.
A complainant reported that his residence on Evans Avenue was entered through an unsecured rear window between 6:15 a.m. and 7:05 p.m. Feb. 12. Computer equipment, worth approximately $750, was stolen and the incident is under investigation, police stated. ***
The officer observed a 1999 Oldsmobile traveling on Twin Rivers Drive near Milford Road with defective lights 9:04 p.m. Feb. 12. The vehicle was stopped as it turned onto Etra Road and the officer smelled the odor of marijuana from within the vehicle. Investigation revealed that the driver, Timothy Herlihy, 19, of Roosevelt, was in possession of a bag of marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and later released pending court action.
Officers responded to the Mahzu restaurant for a report of an employee threatening a patron with a knife 9:01 p.m. Feb. 16, police said. Joseph Scirocco, 20, of Hightstown, was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect intervened in a dispute between a group of patrons and a waitress by brandishing a kitchen knife and threatening members of the group. Mr. Scirocco’s bail was set at $10,000 with a 10 percent cash option. He was later released pending court action after posting bail.***
Police said a theft occurred between 10 p.m. Feb. 18 and 9 a.m. Feb. 19 at Windsor Castle. Maintenance personnel of Windsor Castle reported the theft of a salt spreader, worth approximately $1,000, which was left unsecured outside a maintenance building. The incident is under investigation.
Hightstown
At 12:49 a.m. Feb. 16 on Mercer Street, officers charged Manjal Yagnik, 26, of Leshin Lane, Hightstown, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, and speeding. He was stopped for traveling 47-mph in a 25-mph speed zone. Police said upon being stopped, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcohol beverage and had the driver perform field sobriety tests, which police added, Mr. Yagnik failed. He was taken into custody and submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.10 percent BAC. Mr. Yagnik was later released with pending court action.
At 7:15 p.m. Feb. 16 officers responded to a parking complaint on Franklin Street. Upon the officers arrival they observed someone bleeding from the face. The investigation into the matter revealed that a verbal altercation turned physical resulting in one of the two people being assaulted. Police charged Carlos Astudillo Zhuzhingo, 45, of Franklin Street, with simple assault. He was later released with pending court action.
Between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 19 an unknown person or persons stole a trailer from the International Food and Beverage Company located on Mercer Street, police said. The Freuhaf white trailer was a 53 feet long and had a New Jersey registration of T29S5V.

At 10:55 a.m. Feb. 19 on Stockton Street, officers charged Dasia Powell, 19, of Fryer Court, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and use of and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Police said she was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction and upon being stopped the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. She was given field sobriety tests, which she failed, and was taken into custody, police said. Ms. Powell was transported to police headquarters where she was determined to be under the influence of marijuana and was later released with pending court action.
At 3:37 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Hightstown Borough Police Department, officers charged Darrius Wojtowicz, 19, of Lincoln Avenue, with contempt of court. Police said he turned himself in on a traffic warrant issued for his arrest by the Hightstown Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $500. He was then processed and released upon posting bail.
