Over 55 employers and service providers packed American Legion Stevenson-D’Alessio Post 12, 232 Union Ave., Somerville, on Thursday, February 21, 2013, for New Jersey’s ninth Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) job and coaching fair, and they were not disappointed with the turn-out of veteran job seekers, totaling over 150.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, ESGR, The American Legion, New Jersey State Library and other partners hosted the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Resume writing and interview skill “coaching”/training started at 8:30 a.m. with representatives from the State Library and the Dept. of Labor & Workforce Development. Forty people attended the training, which will be a staple at future job fairs.

The event, was also supported by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMAVA), the Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Veterans Administration (VA), the State Parole Board, the Somerset County Library System, and other local partners.
The next HOH Job Fair will be at Rider University on March 21.
