AUTHOR’S DAY AT MONROE LIBRARY
Monroe Township resident and author, Bettie Linke will participate at the LOCAL AUTHOR DAY at the Monroe Township Library on Tuesday, March 12. Her book, THAT’S THE SPIRIT, published by Xlibris Publishing Company, is an anthology of short stories and memoir writings that originate in neighboring Jamesburg as early as the 1940’s. Her non-fiction story telling of growing up in the 50’s weave the simple lifestyle, along with family values after the wartime era. Many pieces include a Norwegian accent and adds flavor to the assortment of humorous children’s stories, The Inspiration Section and nostalgia worth saving.
Relaunching That’s The Spirit has allowed the writer to share and facilitate Writer’s Memoir Panels, Writing Workshops, Readings and continue her book signings events in Mercer, Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean counties.
Writing with the Monroe Writer’s Group for over ten years, hosted by the Monroe Library each month, has enabled her creative, nonfiction style to continue. All generations have read her self-published book. Ms. Linke’s recent work continues and is appearing monthly in the NJ Shopping and Dining Guide and the Leisure Times newspaper publication.
The announcement of Local Authors Day, on the Library website, www.monroetwplibrary.org/ invite all to attend the event from 11 am until 1 pm. That’s The Spirit will be available for signing and selling. The event will also feature Arnold Jaffe, author of Decision, Sunny Rubin, author of Mafia Mother In Law, and Marlene Sardoff, author of A Love to Kill For.
