NUI Mock Trial Team Top 3 in NJ

Noor-Ul-Iman School Mock Trial Team Wins Central Region Championship
New Brunswick, NJ – On Thursday, January 31, 2013, Noor-Ul-Iman (NUI) School’s Mock Trial team won its third Middlesex County Championship by defeating the North Brunswick School team in the County Finals at the Middlesex County Court House in New Brunswick. The NUI team then went on to win both rounds of the Regional semifinals on February 7th at the New Jersey Law Center. On February 27th NUI won the Central Regional playoffs by defeating the team from Burlington County. The team will compete on March 18th in the state semi-finals against the winners from the Northern and Southern Regions. The team currently ranks as one of the top three in New Jersey.
The members of the NUI Mock Trial team are:  Ameena Soliman (captain and attorney); Hasnaa Esseghir (attorney); Aaminah B’hat, Maryam Rostoum, Iman Soliman, Ayesha Durrani, Salma Elkholy and Ayesha Qureshi (witnesses). The back-up team members are: Kinza Haq, Mona Khan, and Wali Mahmood. The attorney coaches of the team are: Norman Epting, Esq., and Ahmad Aboelezz, Esq. The teacher coaches are: Sufia Azmat, Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed and Aysha Azmat.
Noor-Ul-Iman School also won the Middlesex County Mock Trial Championship in 2006 and 2011. The school finished runners up on five other occasions.  NUI has been competing in the Mock Trial competition for the last ten years.
