EAST WINDSOR — Police said Monday that Pedro Lopez, 31, of Windsor Castle Apartments, was charged with aggravated assault for striking a juvenile with a wooden club on Westfield Road.
The charge stems from a group fight which broke out after 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the Westfield Road park, according to the East Windsor Police Department.
Mr. Lopez faces an aggravated assault with a weapon for his part in the fight, police stated.
Police said people had dispersed prior to police arrival, but shortly afterwards, two brothers, a 19-year-old and 15-year-old, were located on Lincoln Avenue in Hightstown.
Both individuals had lacerations to their torsos, police said. They were transported to University Medical Center at Princeton and later released.
More charges are anticipated, police said.
As of press time the investigation was ongoing.
The Herald was unable to learn as of press time from police where exactly the juvenile was struck with the club.
”The lacerations were caused by a sharp edged weapon,” said Lieutenant Richard Bernstein of the East Windsor Police Department on Monday.
