A birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss was held Monday night at the Manville Public Library.
Young and old came to enjoy activities and treats.
Ruth Bielanski, children’s librarian, and Nan Peterson, the adult librarian, came as the infamous Thing One and Thing Two, and two students, Nija Banks and her brother, Eric, volunteered to dress as a Sneetch and Cat in the Hat.
The event brought Cat in the Hat bingo, Dr. Seuss trivia and making a Cat in the Hat magnet.
Refreshments were served, and attendees decorated Horton the Elephant cookies and had Sneetches juice, goldfish and green cupcakes.
”It was a fun enjoyable get-together” Alyssa Dima said.
Her friend, Michele Rivas, came for the first time to the Dr. Seuss celebration.
”It is fun,” she said.
Mackenzie Brown, also friends with Alyssa and Michele, had fun, too.
”I think tonight was really nice, and it was fun and a nice time hanging out with your friends,” she said.
First-grader Austin Chaya came with his dad and enjoyed the event. Austin’s favorite thing was the Dr. Seuss’ trivia.
