POLICE BLOTTER: Week of March 7, 2013

   Markey Home Improvement called at 8:44 a.m. Feb. 25 to say someone removed several hundred dollars worth of metal from its Gladys Avenue warehouse, police said.
   There was no sign of forced entry, police said.
   A North 5th Avenue man reported at 12:29 p.m. Feb. 25 that a man wearing a purple hat and black jacket stole 10 car batteries from his driveway, police said.
   The estimated value is $150. The area and a local repurchase yard were checked with no results, police said.
   County communications reported a 911 call at 1:42 p.m. Feb. 25 from Wyoming Avenue from a person who sounded disoriented.
   Police responded and charged Richard Yessian for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia as well as resisting arrest.
   He was released without bail and taken to Somerset Medical Center after complaining of chest pains and a laceration on his arm.
   A woman called at 3:36 p.m. Feb. 25 from the Marketplace parking lot off South Main Street and said her foot was run over by a woman in an electric scooter, and she refused to give information, police said.
   Police spoke to the two women and advised them of their rights, police said.
   Adesa Auto Auction reported finding a starter pistol in a vehicle on the North Main Street site at 3:17 p.m. Feb. 26, police said.
   Police took it and logged it as found property, police said.
   A caller at 7:28 a.m. Feb. 28 reported graffiti on the glass doors to the Ricadonna’s business on North Main Street, police said.
   At 11:30 a.m. Feb. 28, Manville High School Vice Principal Stephen Venuto completed a complaint form for truancy against the parent of a boy who has been absent 18 days from Sept. 10 to Feb. 25, police said.
   Walmart called at 1:38 p.m. Saturday to report a customer who had either lost or had her purse stolen, police said.
   Police spoke to a Somerville woman, who said her shiny purple wallet had $632 in cash along with a driver’s license and miscellaneous cards, police said.
   Bridgewater police reported a fight outside Mia Sorella on North Main Street at 1:27 a.m. Sunday, police said.
   Police said the fight dispersed when they arrived, and they sent others on their way.
   Somerset Medical Center emergency room called at 2:17 a.m. to report having an individual there with a stab wound to the chest that occurred at Mia Sorella, police said. Police went to the hospital and spoke to a man who said he had no idea how he received the injury, police said.
   Patrolman John Granahan is investigating.
   A North Main Street woman came to headquarters at 2:43 p.m. Sunday and said her 16-year-old daughter was allowed into Club 337 (Mia Sorella) on Saturday and was served alcoholic beverages, police said.
   An investigation is under way.
   At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, a woman turned in a debit card she said she found in the road near Manville Tobacco Store on North Main Street, police said.
   The owner was called and told to pick it up.
