Prallsville Mills is beneficiary of Progressive Dinner

Local businesses and Mill Society members from both sides of the Delaware River are finalizing plans for the annual Progressive Dinner, on March 23, which benefits the nationally registered historic Prallsville Mills in Stockton.
This year’s 2013 event begins with cocktails at the home of Tina and Doug Borden. Local actress Linda Kenyon, embracing the region’ cultural heritage, will enhance the hour with her impersonation of Julia Childs.
Owner Kelly Hamden of Chez Alice, Pennington, will provide catered hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail hour ($50 tickets are available to attend just the cocktail hour).
Tickets for the full evening’s events are available for $100.
Attendees will then progress to area homes and unique dinning venues in the surrounding area.
Brillman’s Rental Barn, of Newtown, is providing the table settings for the cocktails, dinners at the Mill Complex buildings and the setting for desserts and dancing at the historic Grist Mill.
Emily’s Catering, of Pennington, will provide dinners at the 1850s River House,
Gabriele Hamilton and Michael Hagerty will serve dinners in the Prallsville Carriage Shed.
Mill Society members also will host dinners in other private homes and other historic Mill complex buildings.
Peter McCrohan, owner of Shoppons Run Farm, Stockton, is donating the flowers for the evening’s desserts and dancing in the Grist Mill.
Bob Kascik, owner and chef of BBQ & Comfort Food, New Hope, will provide the evening’s desserts. To attend just the desserts and dancing, tickets are available for $50.
”Every aspect of this event is donated, making the full price of the event’s ticket a tax-deductible donation to the Delaware River Mill Society,” said DRMS Executive Director Edie S. Sharp.
EACH YEAR community members donate by offering, in creative ways, the wide range of talents this Delaware River region offers.
The 2013 invitation is a watercolor by artist Beverley Jones. Homes hosting a dinner will receive a 2013 Progressive Dinner Flag of this year’s invitation’s image. The flags are being made and donated by Robin Ashby, owner of Plum Creek Designs, Rosemont.
The annual event also serves as a membership drive. You can join the Mill Society by going to www.drms-stockton.org. While there, click on the Facebook icon to see a bulletin board of events at the Prallsville Mills.
All who donate to the evening’s activities receive free advertising space in the 2013 Progressive Dinner program. The event allows each donating business to reach their local targeted audience.
The historic Prallsville Mill complex serves as a local and regional resource for other nonprofit organizations, educational, cultural, art and music venues as well as private rented events.
The Delaware River Mill Society, a private not for profit organization responsible for the historic Prallsville Mills complex, sponsors the annual Progressive Dinner fundraising event.
Event tickets are available by contacting the Mill Society at 609-397-3586 or e-mailing [email protected].
Mill Society members should expect to receive their invitations in the mail. The annual mailing also serves as a membership renewal drive. If unable to attend, but appreciate the resource of the Prallsville Mills, renew or join as a member.
