Looking at the Story of Isaac from 3 Religious Viewpoints
Hopewell Twp. – Three local religious scholars will serve as panelists discussing Jewish, Christian and Muslim views of "The Binding of Isaac" on April 7 at 9 a.m. in Har Sinai Temple, 2421 Pennington Rd.
With reservations for the free event due March 15, the discussion sponsored by the temple’s Interfaith Outreach Committee will examine the test of faith from the Hebrew Bible in which Abraham is told to sacrifice his son, Isaac, only to be instructed to spare his son and kill a ram instead.
Har Sinai’s Rabbi Stuart Pollack will approach the story from a Jewish viewpoint; Sohaib Nazeer Sultan, Muslim Life Coordinator and Chaplain at Princeton University, will present the Muslim perspective and Dennis T. Olson, who chairs the Biblical Studies department at Princeton Theological Seminary, will represent the Christian side.
The "Three Faiths, One Story" theme is in keeping with Har Sinai’s all-inclusive approach to religion and the Interfaith Outreach Committee’s purpose.
To reserve, call the temple at (609) 730-8000.
