CEA Hires New Director, Launches New Program

By Tracey Costanzo
Flemington – Stefanie MacCormack of Flemington recently joined CEA as the director of the new CORE Values program. CORE is an acronym for Concentrated Occupational Readiness Enhancement and the initiative is a job readiness program for young adults with autism and other communications difficulties.  CORE Values is the latest addition to the wide range of employment services CEA has been providing for individuals with special needs since 1970.
The CORE Values program is designed to prepare people with autism, or any individual with the need to enhance their social skills, for the work force. Supported by the New Jersey Department of Labor, the curriculum allows for work, social and other interactive skills to be blended with simulated and real on-site work experiences.
This program will prepare those lacking social skills to find work that is comfortable them and where they can thrive. Ms. MacCormack comments, “I am excited to offer this opportunity to help people with socialization challenges feel they are worthy of a job and to prepare them to succeed in the same opportunities as anyone else.”
Prior to joining CEA, Ms. MacCormack worked in the behaviorial health field for nearly six years. She holds a master’s degree in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
To launch the new “CORE Values” program, there will be an open house for potential participants and their family and friends on Thursday, April 4th from 4pm to 8pm at CEA, 11 Minneakoning Road, Flemington, NJ.
