WEST AMWELL — The 35th annual South Hunterdon Regional High School (SHR) Marching Band Auction will be held on March 16 in the high school gym, 301 Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road.
There is free parking in the lot on the Lambertville-Rocktown Road side of the school. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The auction will begin at 7 p.m.
Admission is $5 at the door. Admission includes one sheet of tickets with extra tickets available for $1 per sheet.
Refreshments, including homemade soup, baked goods, sweet treats and soft drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
There will be specials — a 50/50 raffle and door prizes throughout the evening, as well as a “Band’s Best Homemade Bake Goods” auction.
Items for auction include paintings, prints and pottery from local artists as well as gift certificates from local restaurants and retailers.
Themed baskets, including a Downton Abbey basket valued over $200, will be auctioned. Other donations include ones from ShopRite of Flemington, Basil Bandwagon, Rutgers landscaping, Unionville Vineyards and River Queen Artisans.
All of the money raised through the auction will benefit the SHR marching and concert bands’ efforts to train and to compete regionally.
This year the marching band will be participating in the US Naval Academy/Annapolis Band Competition, slated for April 19-21.
