Hillsborough’s Board of Education accepted the retirement of 10 staffers, including five teacher veterans of 35 years or more in the township, at its last three meetings. All are effective as of July 1.
On Feb. 25 night, the board accepted the retirement of Cynthia Sobreyra, last year’s Somerset County Teacher of the Year. She is a Spanish teacher at Hillsborough High School. She has worked in the district since September 1998.
Patricia Mathisen, music teacher at Triangle School, will retire after 40 years in the district. She began work here in September 1974.
Janet Hartmann, a grade 6 literacy teacher at Auten Road Intermediate School, will retire effective after working in Hillsborough since September 1976.
Bonnie Alley, a German teacher at Auten Road, will retirement after having been in the district since September 1976.
Roberta Vladimer, art teacher at Woods Road School, will retire. She has worked in the district since September 1978.
Wayne Kopf, instrumental music teacher at Auten Road, will retire after being in the district since September 1979.
Carol Leo, learning disabilities teacher consultant at the Middle School, will retire effective July 1. She has been employed in the district since September 1989.
Susan Pristas, a German teacher at the high school, retirement, had her resignation accepted, She has been in the district since September 1992.
Jane Staats, math teacher at the high school, will retire. She has worked in the district since September 1995.
Linda Reimer, elementary teacher at Woods Road School, will retire. She has worked in Hillsborough since September 2001.
The board also accepted the resignation of Christine Murphy, a half-time instructional assistant at Triangle School, effective March 1. She has worked in the district since September 2010.
The board accepted the resignations of lunch aides Katie Anne Chromowsky at Auten Road school, and Patricia Gambardella at Woods Road School.
