Japanese Exchange Starts in Hopewell

By Bob Brown
22 Japanese High School students and one teacher from Nagano Prefecture, Japan arrived to Hopewell Valley Central High School Saturday, March 15 where they are being hosted by area families until Friday, March 29th.
During their visit, the Japanese students will study English at the high school and observe their host’s classes.  In addition, they will visit Princeton University, the State Capital, University of Pennsylvania and various historical and cultural sights in Philadelphia and New York City.
The program will end with a Pot Luck Dinner and Japanese Cultural Presentations on Thursday, March 28th from 6 until 8 p.m. at the High School cafeteria.
The exchange program is organized by the Center for International Training, Inc., a Not-for-Profit International Exchange Organization from Osaka, Japan.
A similar exchange program is being planned for this summer from July 27 until August 9.  Any families interested in hosting a Japanese student during that time should contact Local Area Home Stay Coordinator, Alisa Kuppe, at CenterForInternationalTraining.com
