MANVILLE: Sheriff officer’s family thanks all for support

To the editor:
As the family of Sheriff’s Officer Anthony “Kush” Kosensky, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who provided support during this difficult time of great sorrow and loss.
Upon the news of Kush’s passing, we were blessed with an unprecedented outpouring of support from our small community. Family and friends gathered, wrapped their arms around us and started delivering tray after tray of food.
The D’Aniello and Szczecina families of Manville Pizza made daily deliveries during the week between Kush’s passing and his funeral.
We would especially like to thank the Somerset County Sheriff’s and correction offices for their incredible outpouring of support and for coordinating such a finely orchestrated funeral. Not a detail forgotten, from the shining of Kush’s boots and brass to the rifle salute at the cemetery.
We would like to thank the Zalewski family for the arrangements provided by Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home. We appreciate their compassion and tender handling of the services. We would like to thank all of our family and friends who attended, some waiting an hour and a half to say their last goodbye and offer their condolences. Know that your presence and outpouring of love for Kush was heartwarming to us.
Thank you to all those who participated in the procession from the funeral parlor to the church and ultimately to Kush’s final resting place. Officers from across the state were on motorcycles, in cars and on foot. The pallbearers, accompanied by the pipers and drummers, offered a heartbreaking farewell. We appreciate the generosity of the Gleason Funeral Home for providing the limo and the car to transport the flowers to the cemetery. And to the Manville police, public works and fire departments, for all their support and for watching over us, high above Main Street, standing guard to provide a final farewell.
Finally, we would like to thanks Café Picasso for doing such a wonderful job of catering the repast at the Elizabeth Avenue Fire Company.
To all of our family and friends, for all of the prayers, cards, phone calls, food served, flowers and all the kind words of comfort, we cannot thak you enough. Our hearts are broken, but we are touched by your support and love, and we offer you our sincerest thanks and gratitude at this incredibly difficult time.
