The Hillsborough Dukes Junior Pee Wee spring cheer team placed third at the Best of the Best cheerleading competition Sunday at Kean University.
The squad, comprised of 3rd to 6th grade girls, qualified to compete by winning the grand champion title at an October competition.
This is the first year the Dukes organization has offered spring cheer, which is part of the Pop Warner year-round cheer program. The squad will participate in two more competitions this spring, including the Six Flags Great Adventure Cheerleading and Dance Championships.
