HILLSBOROUGH: Man charged with eluding officer

   A man was released at the scene after allegedly trying to hide from police when police tried to stop his vehicle on Route 206 on March 6.
   Vichal Cheruku, 39, of Hillsborough drove behind a local business in an attempt to hide from an officer, police said. After also being charged with speeding, he was released on both charges.
   In other items that police reported:
   • Michell Cuartas, 23, of Hillsborough was charged March 2 with possession of drug paraphernalia after it was found in her vehicle after being stopped on Rote 206. She was released after booking, pending a court appearance.
   • Javehy Toney, 21, of Hillsborough was charged with hindering apprehension Feb. 26 when he allegedly provided false information to police during an investigation. He was also charged with theft of items, valued at $600, belonging to a neighbor.
• A metal drainage grate, with a value of $200, was stolen from Ann VanMiddlesworth Park on Feb. 25.
