LAWRENCE: Police blotter

   An Eggerts Crossing Village resident reported the theft of a ring, valued at $700, from a jewelry box at her home at 5:30 p.m. March 19. The ring was taken sometime between Feb. 21 and March 14. There were no signs of forced entry.
   Gunjan Mukheja, 39, of Princeton Pike, was charged with shoplifting cosmetics valued at $166 from Lord & Taylor at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 7:22 p.m. March 19.
   Hadi Mufti, 23, of Southampton, Pa.., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of pills without a doctor’s prescription, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia (rolling papers and baggies) after he was stopped by police for a motor vehicle violation on Brunswick Pike at 10:16 p.m. March 19.
   Garry Mahautiere, 58, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting clothing worth $230 from Sears at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 1:32 p.m. March 20. He was released after posting $800 bail for the shoplifting charge and two outstanding warrants.
   A burglar entered Al’s Service Center on Lawrence Road at 3:53 a.m. March 21 and rummaged through some cabinets in the waiting area, but nothing was reported missing. Police responded to a burglar alarm and found a broken window.
   Mona Hakim, 34, of Hamilton, was charged with shoplifting clothing worth $266 from J.C. Penney at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 6:37 p.m. March 21. She was also charged with employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime and abuse/abandonment/cruelty/neglect of a child for using a child as a look-out.
   Nelson Melgar-Donis, 30, of Puritan Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and driving under the influence in a school zone on the Brunswick Circle at 1:19 a.m. March 22.
   An employee of the Street Talk kiosk at the Quaker Bridge Mall reported the theft of her Blackberry cell phone, valued at $500, that she had placed on the counter of the kiosk between 5:22 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. March 22.
   A Teavana employee at the Quaker Bridge Mall reported the theft of her Motorola Droid cell phone, valued at $200, from the counter in the store between 7:05 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. March 22.
   Luggage, tools and a broken television set, worth a combined $1,870, were reported stolen from a storage locker at the Extra Space storage business on Brunswick Pike between Jan. 10 and Feb. 28. The theft was reported at 8:08 p.m. March 22. There was no sign of forced entry.
   Dawn Boyd, 42, of Trenton, was charged with driving under the influence after police responded to a call about a disturbance involving her husband, who was inside the McDonald’s on the Brunswick Circle, at 10:02 p.m. March 22. Police found Ms. Boyd, who appeared to be intoxicated, sitting in the driver’s seat of the car that was parked in the parking lot.
   Alphanso Thompson, 24, of Trenton, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after police responded to a noise complaint at the Comfort Inn on Brunswick Pike at 11:17 p.m. March 22.
   A diamond ring, valued at $1,500, belonging to a patient at the St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s assisted living facility at Morris Hall, was reported stolen between 6:30 p.m. March 22 and 5 p.m. March 25. There were no signs of forced entry.
