Police charged Gabriel Luna, 19 of Perth Amboy, and Lea Visaggio, 25 of South Plainfield, for shoplifting from the Puppy Palace on Route 130 south the afternoon of March 24. Police responded to a report of shoplifting and upon arrival made contact with both of the accused in the store’s parking lot.
Mr. Luna and Ms. Visaggio were observed near their vehicle with a pug valued at $699. Both were arrested, processed, charged and released pending a court date.
Police charged Raquel Dossantos, 24, of Millstone with driving while intoxicated March 24 after observing a vehicle at the intersection of Route 130 north and Main Street, stopping in front of the stop line.
Police also observed the vehicle turning onto Main Street without signaling, initiating a traffic stop. During the stop, police detected evidence the driver may have been intoxicated. The accused subsequently failed several field sobriety tests, police said.
Ms. Dossantos was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to signal turn and failure to stop. She was processed and released pending a court date.
Alberto Ortiz-Castaneda, 22 of East Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated March 23. Police observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn and fail to maintain a lane at the intersection of Route 33 and Main Street, initiating a motor vehicle stop.
Police then detected evidence the accused was intoxicated and requested he perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
The accused was arrested, charged, processed and released pending a court date.
Mr. Ortiz-Castaneda was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain a lane and failure to observe a traffic light.
Police charged township resident Jesse Botnick, 23, with narcotics possession after a motor vehicle stop March 22.
Police observed Mr. Botnick’s vehicle making an unsafe lane change while traveling on Route 130 south, initiating a motor vehicle stop in the area of the Work Out World gym.
During the stop, police detected evidence narcotics may be present and a search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of an unidentified white, powdery substance suspected to be a Schedule I narcotic. Drug paraphernalia was also discovered.
The accused was then arrested, processed, charged and released pending a court date.
Mr. Botnick was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, making an unsafe lane change and possession of a controlled drug substance in a motor vehicle.
