Country Folk Art Craft Show celebrates 30th anniversary

The 30th annual Country Folk Art Craft Show will be held at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, located at 97 Sunfield Ave., Edison.

The event hours are Friday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost of admission is $8. There will be free parking available.

The craft show began in Davisburg, Mich., where Betty Long and her daughter Rhonda Blakely premiered their first show back in 1982.

Since then, the Country Folk Art Craft Show has grown to 17 shows this year in five states.

Artisans from across the United States and Canada participate in the shows, where their work can be displayed to the public.

Every participant is juried and hand-selected for his or her workmanship and integrity of creative design. Craft-lovers can find an array of decorating items from themes such as Primitive, Shabby Chic, Cottage, New Country, Tuscan, Northwest Lodge, Vintage, Traditional and Fine Art, Vintage and Whimsical.

Some of the more popular decorating items found at the shows are handcrafted furniture, home and garden decor, jewelry and textiles.

Also available are holiday decor, wearable art, handmade candles and soaps, quilts, paintings, framed art, florals, iron work, wood carvings, baskets, stained glass and much more.

Music and gourmet delights will also be provided.
