The closing of a bridge on Route 518, over which the Hunterdon County Department of Public Works, Division of Roads, Bridges and Engineering has jurisdiction, will begin on or about April 1 (Monday).
This closing will affect area motorists who use Route 518, going both east and west. The job is expected to take about four months to complete. A detour will be posted.
A spokesman said the bridge over Stony Brook, located one-fifth mile east of Route 31’s junction with Route 518, is being closed for reconstruction.
The bridge is designated as an inter-county bridge, because Route 518 runs along the border between East Amwell and Hopewell townships.
The contractor for the work on the bridge is Interstate Contracting and Excavating, LLC.
